2026 Between Ficathons - Day 1 Roundup!

I've been busy - my writing/wordcount hasn't been so bad since April began, either, which is nice! - but today I had to scrap all 600 words (of a will-be-1k work) I'd written for something, among various levels of meatspace bullshit, and I am just feeling . . . crummy.

I decided to spend the evening poking around on the ficathon instead of starting over just yet on that WIP.

2026 Ficathon - Stats!

I wrote a total of 173 fills on the ficathon this year!

Across 21 days - I took a good number off, between meatspace stresses and busyness and working on February deadlines.

And again, because I am participating in getyourwordsout and am tracking these things, I have a total wordcount!

21,931 - an average of 126 words per 3SF, exactly the same as last year.

I wrote 3SFs for 43 fandoms this year, plus returning to Renaud's Family, plus a few more one-off originals created for single 3SFs.

Fandoms:

Moon Child was again the top fandom!

My top five:
Moon Child: 34

second place, a tie:
Kagen no Tsuki: 12
Original - Renaud's Family: 12

third place, another tie:
Boys Over Flowers: 6
Epic: 6
Mouretsu Pirates: 6
Sex Pistols: 6
Vampire's Love: 6

Only 6 of those were for fandom-specific prompts - all the rest were either "any" or a wildcard (any fantasy setting, any vampire fandom).

Ships/characters, similarly = 5 of them were specific prompts, the rest were either "any" or wildcards, the busiest of which was 11 for "any F/F".

More 3SF collections coming to AO3 this year I imagine . . . though I've already kicked off one new one (for Epic).

Now to decide what to do with my row of open tabs of prompts and prompt posts. . . Do I want to go ahead and think I'll do a between rounds 3SF day soon, or. . . Decisions!

Took yesterday off the ficathon . . . mostly because I had a lovely day with friends that took up most of the day! And a little because when I got home (finally) I finally worked on something else (a February deadline, even! oops >.>) for the first time since the ficathon began. I love it, but also I do tend to fixate! (This is why I don't do anything except maybe a scattered day or few between ficathon rounds. >.> Moderation is key.)

Anyway! Back on today ('today', it's 11:30pm, whoops) though I'll also try to work on my deadline things some. . .
