Early Morning
SK8; MatchaBlossom
Prompt: Any, Any, The aroma of freshly baked bread.
"Kojiro! I've finally figured- . . .what are you doing up, anyway?" Kaoru asked, coming to a sharp stop and pouting thoughtfully as his mind changed tracks - he would hate that observation, Kojiro thought, and made a mental note to tell him that was what face he made in this mood, later.
"You haven't been to bed yet, have you?" Kojiro asked, grabbing a towel and stepping out of the kitchen as he dusted the flour off his hands and forearms; Kaoru's pout deepened, but so did his breathing as he tilted his head up, drifting closer.
Baking bread had that effect on almost everyone, and it was nice to see that exposure hadn't worn it away from Kaoru either - he was usually still asleep when Kojiro got up to bake before open, not still awake . . . quite this late; Kojiro shooed him to a chair and went to get him some tea and a loaf of bread so fresh out of the oven it was still steaming - he'd send his brilliant, ridiculous lover to bed once he'd eaten and rattled out whatever was in his racing brain this morning.

Understanding
Kagen no Tsuki; Tomoki, (Adam/Mizuki)
Prompt: Any, Any, Be careful what you wish for.
I wish I could write like that; I wish I had the understanding, it seems so-
Tomoki remembered thinking that, though he didn't remember specifically what song he'd been looking at then; one of the heart-wrenching, deep ones that he knew his own writing never measured up to - thank fuck, it hadn't been fucking Evil Eye, at least; he'd never heard of them, of Adam Lang, before-
Tomoki took a breath and swallowed hard, closing his eyes, fingers curling in towards his palm and skating over the already crumpled pages of his notebook - heart aching, because now, truly, he understood, his own longing and regret, his own heartbreak and guilt, spilling through words he had never known he could find within himself.

Wild Ride
Moon Child; Tin-Chen, Sho
Prompt: Any, Any, I though you said you had a GOOD idea!
"Technically I only said I had an idea!" Sho shouted over the noise of the engine and the rush of the wind around them. "You're the one who said you were up for anything!"
A mistake he would never make again Tin-Chen thought - if only he got out of this alive, please god - and he now understood why Toshi had both laughed and absolutely refused to come along.

Too Far
Original - Renaud's Family; Sylvester
Prompt: Any, any, “I would do anything for you” / “Really? Would you stop?”
"Truly, Syl! I would," Francois reaches for one of his hands, and Sylvester resists the impulse to curl his lip; he hates that nickname, "I would do anything for you!" Francois insists, and Sylvester wonders absently what he thinks Sylvester needs or wants that he could possibly do, anyway.
"Would you? Would you really?" Sylvester makes his voice soft and breathy - though he can hear his brother's voice in the back of his mind, telling him this is overkill, which is probably true - and Francois is definitely buying it, smile widening as he leans closer. "Would you," Sylvester trails a fingertip over Francois' face, which is definitely overkill, but he's been so obnoxious since his Sire brought him here; Sire says she spoils him, but he also says that about Grand-Sire and them, so that can't be all of it, surely, "fucking stop?" he finishes with a sharp smile he learned from his Sire and a dubious, judgemental arch of his brow he learned from his Grand-Sire, dropping his hand and straightening his spine.

Only Lack
Moon Child; Kei & Sho
Prompt: Any, any, “I would do anything for you” / “Really? Would you stop?”
"Of course, little one," Kei said gently, ruffling Sho's fringe, smoothing his braids, "I would do anything for you."
"Really?" Sho swallowed, looking up as Kei assured him it was true. "Would you stop? Stop- Starving yourself and torturing yourself and blaming yourself for everything, would you-"
Would you love yourself even a fraction as much as I love you, Sho thought as Kei only stared at him, lips slightly parted, hopeless, aching; he knew Kei loved him, even knew Kei would do anything for him . . . a care Kei never extended for himself.

One Thing
Moon Child; Kei/Sho
Prompt: Any, any, one hundred years later
"Na, Kei?" Sho asked, tilting his head without lifting it from Kei's chest; Kei's fingers ran through his hair and he sighed, snuggling into the touch. "I understand a lot of things much better, now. . ." more, even, than he had when he had spent a decade on his own, almost everyone he loved dead, "but there is one thing. . ."
Kei hummed softly, questioning, fingers trailing down Sho's neck; he sighed, relaxing into Kei, then rolled over, stretching out mostly on top of him, and Kei made a soft sound of contentment.
"Why the fuck did you starve yourself for years," Sho grimaced; probably decades if not more, at that - he did know Kei, hadn't needed a hundred years with him for that knowledge, "whatever he did or chose, I can't imagine. . ."

Not Listening
Moon Child; Shinji & Sho, Toshi
Prompt: Any, any, child on child violence
"Sho! You know better! How- Don't you dare!" Shinji snapped, snatching at Sho and catching his shoulder; Sho began to protest and Shinji shook him hard, silencing him as his teeth clacked and-
Toshi cringed, backing away; he didn't want to get in the way when they were like this; it was unusual for the brothers to fight - or . . . it always had been, until-
Sho gasped thinly as Shinji shoved him into the corner of the counter, swaying and beginning to slide off his feet, one arm folded around himself weakly; Toshi opened his mouth - Shinji wouldn't listen to him - he wouldn't listen to anyone but - Toshi turned and bolted; Shinji wouldn't listen to Kei either, but Kei wouldn't let him treat Sho like that - Kei wouldn't let anyone-

Cautions
Epic; Tara/Ronin
Prompt: any, any, the perfect person makes a mistake
"All right, all right," Tara said, smoothing her still ruffled petals - brittle at the edges, though they were returning to their pristine, healthy state rapidly - as she settled to the ground, "you were right. I'm supposed to remind you," she added with a slight smile, "to gloat now."
Ronin swallowed; he had said that, and a part of him still wanted to - much as a part of him wanted to shake Tara until she admitted sense, not just that he had been right this time - but after seeing her run, seeing her so very nearly struck by a Boggan arrow . . . he couldn't quite muster the mask to do so.
"Promise," Ronin began, and his voice was much more raw than he would have hoped, "promise to listen to me next time, and we can skip the gloating. Just this once."
